CONSCIOUSNESS · CHAPTER 3 OF 5

Maps of Inner Growth

The twelve pathways, higher dimensions artwork, seven stages, consciousness map and Geography of the Soul offer different ways to reflect. Use what helps you understand yourself; none is a test, a fixed ladder or a measure of your worth. — LYRA

Some spiritual traditions describe an architecture of consciousness through twelve dimensions, moving symbolically from physical life toward wider awareness, unity, SOURCE and CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS. For LYRA, this is an invitation to reflect on how our perspective can expand and how deeply connected life can feel, rather than a literal map of the universe.

A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY BACK TO YOUR TRUE SELF

Seven Stages of Consciousness

Consciousness is not a competition or a ladder where some people are higher than others. It is a natural unfolding. Each stage is a part of the human experience and each one has a purpose.

As we grow, we do not leave the earlier stages behind. We simply gain a wider perspective and learn to include them all with more awareness, compassion and balance.

Here is a simple and relatable look at the seven stages of consciousness and what they can feel like in everyday life.

For a practical introduction to questioning old beliefs, finding steadiness and bringing awareness into daily life, explore the spiritual awakening guide.

  1. 01

    Survival

Your focus is on safety, security and meeting basic needs. Fear, protection and stability are at the centre of your awareness. This is a natural and necessary stage and it gives you the foundation to grow.

  2. 02

    Tribal

You seek connection, belonging and acceptance. Family, friends, community, culture and shared beliefs play a big role. You learn through relationships and begin to see yourself as part of something bigger than just you.

  3. 03

    Ego

You develop a strong sense of self. Achievement, recognition and personal identity become important. You learn about boundaries, independence and what you value. The ego gives you a unique perspective through which to experience life and it is not the enemy.

  4. 04

    Awakening

You start to question old beliefs and look deeper. You become more aware of your thoughts, patterns and reactions. You want to understand who you are beneath everything you were taught to be.

  5. 05

    Soul

You begin to trust your intuition and inner guidance. Life feels more meaningful and you are drawn to live in alignment with your soul’s purpose. You feel a stronger connection to something greater than yourself.

  6. 06

    Unity

You feel a deep connection with all life. Separation begins to fade and you recognise that the same energy lives in everyone and everything. Love, compassion and interconnectedness become natural.

  7. 07

    Integrated

You live with one foot in the human experience and one foot in the divine. You understand that you are both an individual and part of the greater whole. You bring wisdom, compassion, presence and LOVE into everyday life.

You are not behind. You are not above anyone else. You are exactly where you need to be.

Every experience, every challenge and every insight is part of your unique journey. Consciousness is not about becoming someone new. It is about remembering who you really are and seeing the beauty and purpose in every step along the way.

Trust the unfolding · one steady stepFor me, trust means allowing room for uncertainty while taking responsibility for what I can do today. When life feels unsettled, I pause, return to the present and choose one steady step. I do not need to see the whole path to move with care. Let this image be a reminder that I can hold hope, ask for support and keep learning as life unfolds.— LYRA

The Geography of the Soul

A Guide to Deciphering Your Internal Vibration

A dark-skinned, clean-shaven man with long braids and a luminous golden robe stands within radiant rainbow shells. Four symbolic stages lead from the survival ego through awakening and aligned flow to pure being. The complete supporting wording is written below.
The artwork’s words · a spiritual reflectionRead all four stages below.
  1. 1The Outer Crust / The Survival Ego

    Theme: Fear, Control, and Separation.

Living from the perimeter: hyper-vigilance, confusing hyper-independence with safety, manipulating outcomes to avoid rejection, and seeing life through “What might go wrong?”

Trap: Spiritual bypassing — using concepts to avoid human pain.

  2. 2The Gateway / The Awakening

Theme: Curiosity, Somatic Truth, and Boundary Setting.

The old paradigm collapses. You move from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What is this revealing to me?” Healing becomes embodied; grief and anger are allowed a seat at the table.

Tool: The Conscious No — protecting your peace without guilt.

  3. 3The Sanctuary / The Aligned Flow

Theme: Trust, Intuitive Guidance, and Grace.

The nervous system settles. You stop forcing doors open; coincidences become synchronicities. Your worth is inherent, not earned through labor or perfection.

State: Radical Acceptance — letting things be exactly as they are.

  4. 4The Center Core / Pure Being

Theme: Unity, Presence, and The Source.

The fixer identity dissolves. Nothing to heal, chase, or arrive at. You are the sky, not the weather— a conscious witness to the divine play of the universe.

Truth: Tat Tvam Asi — You Are That.

LYRA summary · Returning to your centre

For me, the geography of the soul is a symbolic journey home to the awareness beneath our protective layers. We can meet fear with compassion, honour grief and anger, and let clear boundaries create room for trust. Returning to the centre means being present with our human experience: feet on the earth, heart open, and one conscious choice at a time. Wherever you recognise yourself in this map, your worth is already here. Let the light within become kindness in the way you live.
